To finish off the week I will conclude this series of photos from Pete's Smoke and the Mark Green Band with a close up of a piece of musical personality.

A Rare Bird

Here is another shot from Pete's Smoke Meat and the Mark Green Band. Most bass guitars are 4 strings but Paul Lifsches plays to a different tune... his is a five string bass. The bass is said to be the sole of the band (well that is how I see and feel it) and Paul plays with a lot of passion. Yes, bass players are unique birds!

Lets Rock n'Roll

One of favorite haunts is Pete's Smoke Meat on Île Perrot. Besides what in my opinion is the best smoke meat this side of Schwartz's, offers a tasty sampling of local jazz and blues music. One never knows what one may hear. Sometime great and other times... well at least the smoke was great! On one such visit a group of us was celebrating my friend Terry's birthday, having my camera with me to record the evening's activities, I asked the evening's musician if I may take some photos. Having received his blessings my evening was sealed to be great. After all, I had four prime ingredients... Friends, Smoke Meat, Music and Photography. Let me introduce you to Mark Green of the Mark Green Band. Mark, originally from Newfoundland plays a raunchy blend of blues. A sample can be heard at http://servicesmontreal.com/jacqueline/videos.markgreen.html
Enjoy, and more images from the Mark Green Band will follow.

Contest Finalist

I few months ago I entered a photography contest sponsored by Sigma and their partner, Photographer's Forum Magazine. Figuring at the very least I would get the next 2 editions of their magazine for free or at least for the low cost of entering the contest. Well today waiting for me in my mailbox was a letter informing me that my image was chosen as one of the 100 finalists out of over 3,400 photographers from the U.S., Canada and other countries. The winners will be announce in mid-August. As a finalist I will receive a certificate of merit, have my name listed in the next edition of the Photographer's Forum Magazine and have my image printed in the upcoming edition of their publication Best of Photography 2010. I will keep you posted on the final outcome.

God's Gift

Last Saturday I was out with my photo friends photographing the International Fireworks (it was a show by the U.S.A. team). Well, in between rain deluges (4 in all) we were treated to some great sights over our great city's skyline.

I am Back!!!!!

Well it has been LONG time since the last post... almost a year. Needless to say I have been taking lots of photos, ranging from product shots for my clients to abstract reflections in puddles after a rain storm. We have had a few of those lately! Personally I look at the rain as nature's way of supplying a bit of "atmosphere" to enhance my photos. So here is one from last Saturday after a rain deluge.
